Super Gas Foundation’s visit to our Kolkata Outreach Centre

It was an honour for Team Mission Smile to meet the delegates from Super Gas Foundation at our Outreach Centre in Kolkata, NH Barasat. Ms. Alekhya Sidani, Mrs. K. C. Mini and Sreeman Narayana Kadali-Secretary, Super Gas Foundation were among some of the delegates from the foundation. It was their first visit to our centre where they had a detailed discussion on our mission of transforming cleft into smiles. They met and interacted with Cleft patients and their families and also interacted Dr. Anjana Malhotra, Trustee, Mission Smile.

Nutrition Camp at Goalpara

Team from Mission Smile Guwahati Comprehensive Cleft Care Centre (GC4) organized a nutritional camp in Krishnai, Goalpara District of Assam on 17th March 2017. The Camp was followed by the successful screening of 14 patients out of which 6 patients were shortlisted for surgery at GC4. Special arrangements were made for providing food supplements, multivitamin and minerals to the patients. Beside this, dietary counselling and hygiene counselling were also given. 61 Surgeries in Just 4 Days – Vadodara Mission a Grand Success

Our Mission in Vadodara, India turned out to be a grand success at ISHA Hospital. This was our first mission in partnership with Muthoot Pappachan Foundation and over all 12th Mission in Gujarat, the Land of Legends. With the continuous cooperation of 30 volunteers that included team ISHA Hospital-Vadodara, Student Volunteers from MS University along with non-medical volunteers from Muthoot Fincorp Ltd. Vadodara, 128 patients have been screened and 61 surgeries were performed in just 4 days. This has received 98% (59) of post-op turn out on the day of one week follow-up. Sonarpur Camp – 40 Smiles Delivered in Just 3 Days!

From isolation and despair to a new sunshine! That’s the journey of life abided by hope, trust and smile. We are glad to share the grand success of our Sonarpur Camp conducted at ISPAT Co-Operative Hospital with 40 surgeries performed in just 3 days. When it comes to spreading awareness and convincing the patients for the surgery, we often find people scared or rather unwilling to go for the treatment because of lack of confidence, social stigmas and dilemmas.
