IOCL & Mission Smile’s Partnership Gifts 300 Smiles In Assam & Meghalaya

Mission Smile had entered into a partnership with IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.). This was to restructure 300 smiles of patients with cleft deformities in Assam & Meghalaya in November 2018.

Under this agreement, IOCL supported 50% of the cost. The other 50% of the price was borne by Assam and Meghalaya Governments under the PPP model. Under the IOCL banner, the Mission Smile team visited different Assam and Meghalaya districts. They conducted awareness meetings and screening camps. This was done in collaboration with RBSK (Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakaram) and NHM (National Health Mission), Govt. of Assam Govt. of Meghalaya.

The district officials supported us with their help during these months. They sent many patients to our centre. Altogether we had screened 450 patients from both states. With support from IOCL, we have been able to bring smiles to 200 cleft patients from Assam and 100 patients from Meghalaya.

Shri Uttiya Bhattacharyya, Chief General Manager (Indian Oil, AOD State Office), had visited the Guwahati Comprehensive Cleft Care Centre on Mahendra Mohan’s premises Chowdhury Hospital on 14th March 2018. He expressed his happiness at the works that the centre was is performing. The CGM interacted with the patients and their families. He said it was his pride that IOCL had sponsored such a life-changing cause.
