We organised our first mission of 2019 at ISHA Hospital in Vadodara from 19th -25th January. This was in partnership with Muthoot Pappachan Foundation. It turned out to be a big success. It gave us the perfect start to 2019 – activity-filled months ahead.
The Vadodara mission was our 3rd mission at our partner hospital – ISHA Hospital.
The mission team had screened 74 cleft patients and conducted 49 cleft surgeries. Eventually, those 49 patients were declared fit for surgery by the medical team during the screening process.
So, we registered 91% turn-ups (45 patients out of 49 operated) on the day of the one-week follow-up.
Forty medical and non-medical volunteers from across the nation participated in Vadodara Mission. Other than that, the ISHA Hospital team, medical students from Manubhai Dental College, and volunteers from Muthoot Fincorp Group also joined in.
The honourable Mayor of Vadodara, Dr Jigishaben Sheth graced the inauguration ceremony on 20th January. Other dignitaries present were Dr Ajay Valia, Dr Divyesh Shukla, Dr Shilpi Shukla, Dr Mayur Bhagat (Directors of ISHA Hospital), Dr Sangram Patro (Maxillo Facial Surgeon and FMD for the Mission), and Dr Prasanthkumar Nellickal-CSR head of Muthoot Pappachan Foundation.
We sincerely thank all our partners, well-wishers, contributors, volunteers, and above all, the hospital authority for their outright support throughout this mission.
In fact, every mission motivates us to start afresh towards achieving our objective of making India ‘Cleft Free’.
